Situational Analysis

Africa’s youth 70% of the continent is under 30 which represent its greatest untapped asset. Their energy, creativity and problem-solving capacity are the engine for any “people-driven” African development. The African Union (AU) and United Nations (UN) have elevated youth participation in decision making; however, real inclusive influence remains limited. It is on this premises that PAYDF exists to close that gap: it is designing strategies to convert the demographic dividend into concrete opportunities so that young Africans can co-create the continent’s growth, progress and prosperity.

This highlights the importance of:

  1. Youth Empowerment: Unlocking the potential of young Africans.
  2. Innovation: Encouraging novel solutions to age-old problems.
  3. Capacity Building: Developing skills, knowledge, and expertise.
  4. Creativity: Fostering innovative thinking and problem-solving.
  5. Passion: Channeling energy and enthusiasm towards positive change.
  6. Developmental Change: Driving progress and prosperity in Africa.
